Daily Temperature Reading, 3/11

Okinawa | March 11, 2016

Hey baby, I appreciate you talking to me for so long. It was nice to hear you complain about something other than me! Okay, that sounded pretty shitty, but my point is that I felt like you opened up to me, just a little and it made me feel like I was needed. I appreciate that.

New Information:

I went to the travel/sato place and they were closed. They closed at noon. Which sucks. I was thinking though, that when I get to Hawaii I can call the 800 number and talk to them and sometime during the week I am sure I can find a way to get to sato or G1 or something. My old boss is working there. So maybe I can get him to point me in the right direction.

I am puzzled by what we are going to do about the kids. How does one instill a sense of responsibility or ownership or whatever in teenagers? At some point, they have to WANT the responsibility. Forcing them to do the work is one thing, but that just takes too damn much energy. There HAS to be a way for them to do what needs to be done without you killing yourself or them.

Concerns with Recommendations:

I am concerned about what you are going to find when you come home from your conference. Are things going to be worse? What is going to be broken next? Are the rooms going to be clean? My recommendation and take it with a grain of salt, is to give them a list of things to do. Dangle a carrot as some sort of incentive for them to get it done. See what happens. Can’t wait to see what they decide.

Wishes, Hopes and Dreams:

I wish you were going with me. I like to travel, but I hate doing it alone. D is certainly no substitute for you! I miss you terribly. I hope you have a good day! love me
